ICED EARTH

Iced Earth adalah Heavy Metal band dari Tampa, Florida, Amerika Serikat yang di bentuk pada tahun 1984. Iced Earth menggabungkan pengaruh dari Thrash Metal, Power Metal, Progressive Metal, Opera, Speed Metal dan NWOBHM.

Iced Earth sering berubah line-up. Anggota pendiri, pencipta lagu, dan irama gitaris Jon Schaffer, menjadi satu-satunya anggota asli yang masih bertahan, menangani hampir semua lagu dan pemimpin band.

Matt Barlow (vokal) dan Randall Shawver (gitar) adalah anggota terlama setelah Schaffer, yang telah menghabiskan dekade penuh di Iced Earth.

Pada tahun 1999 Jon Schaffer bergabung dengan vokalis Blind Guardian, Hansi Kürsch untuk membentuk proyek sampingan bernama Demons & Wizards dan telah merilis dua album.

PANTERA

Pantera adalah Heavy Metal band dari Arlington, Texas, dibentuk oleh Abbott bersaudara, Vinnie Paul (drum) dan "Dimebag" Darrell (gitar), kemudian dikenal sebagai Diamond Darrell pada tahun 1981.

Bassist Rex Brown bergabung pada tahun 1982 yang kemudian dikenal sebagai Rex Rocker, dengan vokalis Terry Glaze. Pada tahun 1987 Phil Anselmo menjadi vokalis Pantera menggantikan Terry Glaze, dengan band lineup yang paling sukses, yang bertahan selama 16 tahun.

Pada akhir 1980-an Pantera berubah menjadi Thrash Metal band subgenre dari Groove Metal. Pantera menjadi salah satu Heavy Metal band paling terkenal pada tahun 1990-an. Pantera menerima penghargaan peringkat 45 pada daftar VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock" dan peringkat kelima di MTV "Top 10 Greatest Heavy Metal Bands of All-Time"

Pantera mulai dilanda ketegangan antara anggota band pada pertengahan 1990-an, terutama karena penyalahgunaan narkoba Anselmo. Anselmo punya cidera punggung selama beberapa tahun, bukannya mendapatkan perawatan yang tepat, tetapi malah menggunakan heroin sebagai obat penghilang rasa sakit.

Pada tahun 2001, Pantera hiatus dan tidak pernah berhasil menyatukan kembali. Pantera bubar secara resmi pada tahun 2003. Semua harapan dari anggota band yang pernah mendamaikan perbedaan-perbedaan mereka dan mungkin penyatuan Pantera hilang pada tahun 2004, ketika "Dimebag" Darrell ditembak dan dibunuh di atas panggung di Alrosa Villa di Columbus, Ohio oleh penembak ~~sakit jiwa~~ bernama Nathan Gale ketika melakukan konser dengan Vinnie dan band barunya, Damageplan.

DESTRUCTION

Destruction adalah Thrash Metal band dari Weil am Rhein, Lörrach, Jerman yang di bentuk pada tahun 1982. Band ini awalnya bernama "Knight Demon" tetapi berubah menjadi Destruction pada tahun 1984.

Destruction merupakan salah satu dari "Tiga Raja" Thrash Metal Jerman bersama Kreator dan Sodom.

Destruction tidak masuk ke label rekaman besar, dan terpaksa memproduksi sendiri album mereka. Sampai mereka menandatangani kontrak dengan Nuclear Blast di tahun 2000-an.

Kreator adalah Thrash Metal band dari Essen, Jerman, yang dibentuk pada tahun 1984. Memulai karir mereka di bawah nama Tormentor. Kreator dipengaruhi oleh Thrash Metal band Venom, Slayer, Metallica, Bathory dan Mercyful Fate.

Saxon adalah Heavy Metal band dari Inggris yang dibentuk pada 1976 di Barnsley, Yorkshire. Mereka sukses di tahun 1980-an dengan 8 UK Top 40 album termasuk 4 UK Top 10 album.

Overkill adalah Thrash Metal band Amerika yang dibentuk pada tahun 1980 di New Jersey. Band ini telah aktif sejak tahun 1984, merilis 15 studio album, 2 EP, 2 live album dan sebuah "cover" album.

Band ini juga memiliki maskot terkenal bernama Chaly, sebuah kerangka dengan tengkorak kelelawar-seperti wajah, tulang sayap, dan mata hijau. Telah muncul di sebagian besar sampul album mereka.

Slayer adalah Thrash Metal, Speed Metal band dari Huntington Park, California, dibentuk pada tahun 1981 oleh gitaris Jeff Hanneman dan Kerry Kingoleh.

Slayer telah menelurkan 10 album studio, 2 album live, dan 1 boxed set.

Slayer mulai terkenal di tahun 1980-an, terutama setelah mereka merilis album Reign in Blood (1986), yang mereka sebut sebagai "Album Terberat Sepanjang Masa".

Awalnya Slayer dipengaruhi oleh Iron Maiden dan Judas Priest. Ciri khas musik Slayer tremolo picking cepat, tanpa nada solo gitar, double bass drum, dan teriakan vokal.

MEGADETH

Megadeth adalah Thrash Metal, Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, Speed Metal band dari Los Angeles, California yang yang dibentuk pada tahun 1983 yang didirikan oleh Dave Mustaine dan David Ellefson.

Megadeth merilis dua belas album studio, enam live album, dua EP, dua puluh enam single, tiga puluh dua video musik, dan tiga kompilasi.

Grup ini bubar di tahun 2002 karena Mustaine mengalami cedera otot, tapi kembali dibentuk di tahun 2004.

Sebagai pelopor Thrash Metal Amerika, Megadeth naik ketenaran internasional pada 1980-an, tetapi mengalami banyak perubahan line-up.

Megadeth dikenal dengan gaya instrumental khas, sering kali padat, bagian-bagian yang rumit dan trade off guitar solo. Mustaine juga terkenal dengan "menggeram" gaya vokal, juga tema lirik yang bertemakan politik, perang, kecanduan, hubungan pribadi, dan gaib.
