TYPE O NEGATIVE

Type O Negative adalah Heavy Metal band dari Brooklyn, New York, Amerika Serikat, yang dibentuk oleh Peter Steele (vokal, bass) pada tahun 1989 dengan nama awal "Repulsion".

Meskipun Type O Negative sering dianggap sebagai Gothic Metal band, Type O Negative juga memasukkan elemen-elemen Doom Metal, Hardcore dan Thrash Metal. Pengaruh utama Type O Negative adalah The Beatles dan Black Sabbath. Lirik Type O Negative bertemakan tentang cinta, depresi, dan kematian.

Type O Negative telah berhasil melakukan tur dengan Pantera, Queensrÿche, Life of Agony, Danzig, Godflesh, Nine Inch Nails, dan puluhan band Metal papan atas lainnya, serta tampil di Ozzfest festival, Amerika Serikat, bersama Black Sabbath. Type O Negative juga tur bersama Ozzy Osbourne dan Sepultura pada tahun 1996.

Pada bulan Oktober 2007, Type O Negative tampil di Rock am Ring festival, Nürburgring, Jerman. Type O Negative juga tampil di Wacken Open Air 2007 dan Przystanek Woodstock, Polandia, festival terbuka terbesar di Eropa (400.000 - 500.000 penggemar musik Rock setiap tahun).

Pada tanggal 14 April 2010, vokalis, bassis, juga penulis lagu utama, Peter Steele meninggal karena gagal jantung. Masa depan Type O Negative belum diketahui saat ini.

DELAIN

Delain adalah Symphonic Gothic Metal / Melodic Metal band dari Zwolle, Overijssel, Belanda, yang didirikan oleh mantan keyboardis Within Temptation, Martijn Westerholt dan Johanna Charlotte Wessels (vokal) pada tahun 2002.

Lirik Delain bertemakan tentang penderitaan, kesedihan, kerinduan, dan cinta.

Pada album pertama Delain, "Lucidity", mereka mengundang beberapa musisi terkenal seperti: Marko Tapani "Marco" Hietala (Nightwish, Tarot, Northern Kings, Sapattivuosi, Sinergy, Amorphis), Liv Kristine Espenæs Krull (Theatre of Tragedy, Leaves' Eyes), Ariën van Weesenbeek (Pandaemonium, Downslide, Conspiracy, Edgecrusher, Imperia, God Dethroned, Down Till Dawn, Epica, HDK, Aborted, After Forever, Kamelot), Ad Sluijter (Ex. Album "Lucidity" dirilis pada bulan April 2006, tetapi ditunda sampai akhir Mei dan ditunda lagi sampai 21 Agustus sebelum akhirnya dirilis pada tanggal 4 September 2006.

Pada akhir tahun 2007, Delain menyatakan bahwa mereka akan merilis album kedua pada tahun 2008. Pada bulan November 2008, diumumkan di website resmi mereka bahwa album baru Delain, "April Rain", akan dirilis pada tanggal 9 Februari 2009.

Pada bulan Februari 2010, Delain mengumumkan bahwa mereka telah mulai mengerjakan materi baru dan rencana akan merilis album baru mereka pada bulan Januari / Februari 2011. Delain juga mengumumkan bahwa Rob Van Der Loo (bass) akan meninggalkan Delain karena kendala waktu. Pada bulan Maret 2010, Otto "The Baron" Schimmelpenninck van der Oije diumumkan sebagai pengganti Rob Van Der Loo.

Pada tanggal 30 Juli 2010, Delain menjadi band pembuka di Saturn Stage "Sonisphere Festival", Knebworth, Inggris.

Delain dinominasikan untuk kategori "New Sounds of Europe" pada MTV Europe Music Awards 2007. Delain juga dinominasikan untuk TMF Awards 2007 dalam kategori "Best Rock".

AFTER FOREVER

After Forever adalah Symphonic Gothic Metal band dari Reuver, Limburg, Belanda, yang dibentuk pada tahun 1995 dengan nama awal "Apocalypse". Nama "After Forever" diambil dari judul lagu Black Sabbath.

After Forever dipengaruh oleh musik klasik, Doom Metal, Gothic Metal, Power Metal dan Progressive Metal. Lirik After Forever bertemakan tentang relationships, masalah sosial, dan fundamentalisme.

Pada tahun 2002, Mark Jansen (gitar, harsh vocals), salah satu komposer utama dari After Forever, keluar dari After Forever dan kemudian membentuk Symphonic Gothic Metal band, Epica.

Juni 2007, After Forever menjadi band pembuka di Dimebag Darrel Stage, Download Festival.

Pada bulan Januari 2008, diumumkan bahwa After Forever akan istirahat minimal satu tahun untuk alasan kesehatan Sander Gommans (gitar, harsh vocals) yang telah absen di sebagian besar tur promo album After Forever. Floor Jansen (vokal) mengumumkan bahwa band ini akan berkumpul kembali pada awal tahun 2009 untuk membahas masa depan After Forever.

Mortemia adalah Symphonic Gothic Metal band dari Stavanger, Norwegia, yang dibentuk pada tahun 2009. Mortemia merupakan proyek baru dari Morten Veland (pendiri Tristania dan Sirenia).

EYES OF EDEN

Eyes of Eden adalah Symphonic Gothic Metal band dari Dortmund, Jerman, yang didirikan oleh Waldemar Sorychta (gitar) pada tahun 2005.

Waldemar Sorychta awalnya memilih Sandra Schleret sebagai vokalis, tapi ia jatuh sakit dan tidak bisa menyelesaikan rekaman untuk album studio pertama mereka, Faith (2007). ATROCITY

Atrocity adalah Gothic Metal / Death Metal band dari Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg, Jerman, yang dibentuk pada tahun 1985 dengan nama awal "Instigators" dengan memainkan music Grindcore.

Atrocity awalnya memainkan Death Metal sampai album "Todessehnsucht" (1992). Namun, di album "Blut" (1994), Atrocity mulai bereksperimen dengan memainkan genre non-Metal. Misalnya, pada album "Werk 80" (1997), adalah sebuah album yang terdiri dari lagu-lagu Pop dari tahun 1980-an. Tapi pada album "Atlantis" (2004), Atrocity kembali ke Extreme Metal.

Lirik Atrocity bertemakan tentang depresi, kematian, emosi dan fiksi.

Atrocity tur Eropa untuk mendukung Carcass pada tahun 1990, Sodom pada tahun 1991 dan Deicide pada tahun 1992. Atrocity juga ikut mendukung tur Obituary di Inggris pada tahun 1994.

Untuk mempromosikan album "Willenskraft" (1996), Atrocity tur bersama In Flames, Heavenwood dan Totenmond di Jerman. Atrocity juga tampil di Wacken Open Air festival 1996.

Pada tahun 2000, Atrocity bubar. Setelah empat tahun hiatus, Atrocity muncul kembali dengan album baru mereka, Atlantis (2004).

FATES WARNING

Fates Warning adalah Progressive Metal / Power Metal band dari Hartford, Connecticut, Amerika Serikat, yang dibentuk oleh John Arch (vokal), Jim Matheos (gitar), Victor Arduini (gitar), Joe DiBiase (bass), dan Steve Zimmerman (drum) pada tahun 1983.

THEATRE OF TRAGEDY

Theatre of Tragedy adalah Gothic Metal / Death Metal / Doom Metal band dari Stavanger, Norwegia, yang dibentuk pada tahun 1993 dengan nama awal "Suffering Grief".

Setelah menciptakan lagu pertama mereka, "Lament of the Perishing Roses", band ini berubah nama menjadi "La Reine Noir" dan kemudian "Theatre of Tragedy".

Awalnya Theatre of Tragedy adalah Death Metal / Doom Metal band. Theatre of Tragedy menjadi salah satu band pertama yang menambahkan suara soprano vokal wanita dalam genre Death Metal dan Doom Metal.

Theatre of Tragedy juga memberikan banyak pengaruh dalam genre Gothic Metal, memadukan suara growl vokalis pria (vokal Death Metal atau Black Metal) dan suara soprano vokal wanita (clean voice).

Lirik Theatre of Tragedy bertemakan tentang cinta, kehidupan, gothic modern, teknologi, kecantikan dan kegelapan.

Pada musim dingin 2004 / 2005, Theatre of Tragedy tur singkat bersama Pain, Sirenia dan Tiamat.

Pada tanggal 1 Maret 2010, Theatre of Tragedy mengumumkan bahwa mereka akan bubar pada 2 Oktober 2010, setelah 17 tahun bekerja bersama-sama.

Queensrÿche adalah Heavy Metal / Power Metal / Progressive Metal band dari Bellevue, Washington, Amerika Serikat, yang dibentuk pada 1981 dengan nama awal "The Mob".

Queensrÿche adalah salah satu pendiri genre Progressive Metal bersama Fates Warning. Awalnya mereka memainkan lagu-lagu Iron Maiden dan Judas Priest. Lirik Queensryche bertemakan tentang korupsi, teknologi dan cinta.

Pada tahun 1988 dan 1989, Queensrÿche banyak melakukan tur dengan beberapa band, termasuk Def Leppard, Guns N 'Roses dan Metallica. Pada tahun 2000, Queensrÿche tur bersama Iron Maiden. Pada tahun 2003, Queensrÿche tur bersama Dream Theater dan Fates Warning. Pada tahun 2005, Queensrÿche tur dengan Judas Priest di Amerika Utara.
